The Canadian company reports new results from its 2019 drill campaign.

Liberty Gold Corp. (LGD:TSX; LGDTF:OTCQB) increased the size of the Discovery 2 zone via stepout drilling at its Black Pine Property in southern Idaho, it announced in a news release.

The company expanded Discovery 2 to 600 meters (600m) in the northeast-to-southeast direction, thereby connecting it to the Discovery 1 zone via hole LBP095. Liberty further extended Discovery 2 by up to 400m in the northwest-to-southeast direction. Mineralization in both zones remains open, to the south in Discovery 2 and to the northwest and southeast in Discovery 1.

As for recent reverse circulation drilling at Black Pine, it "continues to return thick, high-grade intervals of Carlin-style oxide gold mineralization," the release noted. Recent assays from 14 reverse circulation holes drilled in Discovery 2 returned gold grades that exceeded 1 gram per ton (1 g/t).

Hole LBP096 returned intercepts of 10.7m of 4.41 g/t gold and 3m of 7.95 g/t gold. LBP086 showed 13.7m of 2.25 g/t gold and 4.6m of 5.49 g/t gold. LBP072 demonstrated 10.7m of 1.96 g/t gold and 3m of 5.45 g/t gold.

In its now complete 2019 drill program, Liberty drilled 87 reverse circulation and six core holes for a total of more than 20,900m. Results from the core holes are pending. "Our 2019 drill program at Black Pine was an unqualified success by any measure," President and CEO Cal Everett said in the release.

"We are now updating the geological model and planning a program for 2020 that is over double the size of 2019's," Everett added. "With mineralization in the Discovery 2 Zone still open to the south, the Discovery 1 Zone open to the northwest and southeast, and a host of other targets to test, we look forward to continued success and the release of a resource estimate in 2020."

Based on the available results to date, Liberty expanded its exploration program at Black Pine to 45,000m and intends to commence its 2020 drill campaign in mid-March.
