Seabridge Gold Inc. (SEA:TSX; SA:NYSE.MKT) began drilling at its Snowstorm project in Northern Nevada, it announced in a news release.
Drilling over 7,000 meters will be done, first reverse circulation drilling to the Paleozoic surface then diamond core drilling to target depths. The purpose is to test for Getchell-style, high-grade gold on trend with the Turquoise Ridge mine, located 15 kilometers southwest of Snowstorm. As such, Seabridge will test seven to 10 intersecting structural and stratigraphic targets.
Drill data gained from this campaign will help the company further define targets for subsequent exploration work, including additional geophysical surveys and drilling, guiding it toward areas with significant discovery potential.
